Selina is 7!!

The great reveal of her new miniature dollhouse! Notice that it covers an entire card table. The thing is huge!!! What a find! I got most of the rooms finished sans flooring on the top floor. I discovered a love for teensie renovating. :)

New Pictures

Another day at the park!

Helloooooo

Long time no blog!

Well, as you probably guessed, things have been moving steadily along at a hair-whipping pace. So much has changed since my last post!

First of all, I finally got a job after over a year un-employed. I am managing a mini-storage in North Chico. Which means... da-da, da-da (drumroll) I also live in the house on the property for free. We all just moved in this past week, and it is sure nice to 1. Have internet again 2. Be out of those slummy apartments 3. Have an actual income 4. Have a free house!!!! We are absolutely loving it here. We have a clear front-row seat to the airport runway, so planes come roaring over our heads often.. and cows roam the fields surrounding our house. It is only a block from Lee's work. This opportunity has been deliriously amazing!!! Who could've imagined this.

I got a request yesterday for an update on here... so following (or above) this message, there will be a few new pics. :)

I hope all is well in everyone's world! Drop a comment to let me know how you're doing!!

Love,
Brooke and munchkins 1 and 2

A few from this month

Forgive the random posting of pics, more pictures were requested this week, so here are a few from the last month or so.

Date night

So... once every other week, one of us (Lee or I) pick up the kids for an extra-special date night. It's been fun coming up with ideas that will make some good memories. We have gone bowling, gone to a restaurant with sawdust on the floor, gone swimming in the river and made our own rock walls, and gone to Chuck-E-Cheese.

Last night, we went on a long bike ride down the bike path, the kids' first bike ride. Coming back, I heard Peyton chanting to himself "keep twying keep twying keep twying keep twying Peyton Brook Stockwell" He was huffing and puffing, and every time his foot slipped off, he'd readjust and start with the chanting again. It was the sweetest moment to witness, his amazing self-talk. :) Anyway, we came home, watched the Emporer's New Groove, and the kids made their own churros. Another successful date night. :)

Mmm, eating clowns.

He likes to eat the eyeballs first.

Peyton is 4!

We had a birthday "picnic" party for Peyton last weekend. The original plan was to have it in the community area of picnic tables, but they were all reserved by a large reunion. So we made it work! Lee's neighbors brought some folding tables, and everyone lounged in the grass. Peyton had 6 friends attend, and we all had a great time.

Peyton wanted a "superhero monkey" cake. Lee did a fantastic job on a cupcake-cake!

The cake by the end of the party. I told the kids to go to town, and they swirled and designed the frosting to their hearts' content! It was a masterpiece!

There will be more pictures posted later, when I receive them from our friends. My camera died after these cake pictures. :)

Peytonisms

Just now:

Peyton threw a water bottle down on the floor, because he didn't want to put it back in the kitchen. I said, "Aw, you threw the water!" And he said, "No, I didn't fro it, I dropped it far away."

Swimming in the Summertime

Well we have had a great summer so far! The most notable is that Selina is finally swimming! The "big arms" of the breast stroke she doesn't have down yet, but she can swim fast underwater using the scissor kick! She amazes me how fast she went from barely dog paddling to catching on to swimming! Peyton is in lessons too, this summer, and is getting used to putting his face under water.

Peyton's class: He's in upper left

Selina's class, she's in the middle with her hair back in a bun. Doesn't her teacher look a lot like Uncle Jared?

Fishing!

My friend Chris's company puts on a great thing every year called "Hooked On Fishing". It's set up in Upper Bidwell Park (our favorite place), they stock the lake with fish, supply poles and gear, and then clean them afterwards. And it's all free!! So the kids, me, and Lee went out for a few hours of fishing. It was hilarious how impatient the kids were, just like me! Fishing just makes me hungry, and I usually head straight out and buy some fish at Safeway. :) Anyway, we had a really excellent time, the kids both got a fish (the cheater way, for kids under 5 they will hook one and then hand the child the pole. Look mommy, I caught one!), Lee took the fish home and hopefully ate them after all that trouble. :)
